SNACK BASKET
Every day your child will be offered a healthy snack. Each family in the class is responsible for shopping for the snack basket either once or twice per year.
The teachers will send the basket and shopping list home with your child on the Friday before your assigned week. You did not sign up for a particular week, but when you get the basket, if you have a conflict, please let Mr. Peter know or simple contact another parent and switch weeks with them.
The shopping list will have specific items and amounts for you to purchase over the weekend and return to school Monday morning at carpool dropoff. There are 14 children in the Oak room this year.
For the health of the children, please refrain from purchasing foods with artificial ingredients as well as MSG, asparatame, Splenda, high fructose corn syrup, partially hydrogenated oils, food coloring, etc. Organic food is more expensive so please purchase only if you are able.
BIRTHDAYS
When it's your child's birthday you may bring a special snack to school to be eaten as the morning snack. Make be sure to coordinate the snack with Mr. Peter at least a week in advance. The birthday snacks are also kept healthy (i.e. no cakes or candy). The children love things such as fruit, muffins, veggies and dip.
HOLIDAY PARTY SNACKS
If you signed up for a snack for a holiday party, the same rules apply here as do for daily and birthday snacks. The children love festive, healthy things!
